ALMA, Mich. — No. 1 Calvin squared off against Alma on Saturday. The Knights were without outside hitter Megan Korber but still easily defeated the Scots, 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-12).
Calvin hit a .357 clip as a team while holding the Scots to -.011. The Knights had eight team blocks and served as many aces.
The Knights took the court three hours later against the Finlandia. The match was over very quickly. It took Calvin only 44 minutes to dismantle the Lions in consecutive sets by scores of 25-7, 25-5, 25-4.
Calvin hit a .500 clip, while holding Finlandia to .222. The Knights outblocked the Lions nine to zero.

WHITEWATER, Wis. — Coming off its most disappointing result of the 2011 season, No. 4 Wittenberg bounced back in a big way on the second day of the Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational, cruising past No. 10 Carthage and Wisconsin-Oshkosh by matching 3-0 scores.
Against Oshkosh, the Tigers won by set scores of 25-17, 25-19, 25-20. Senior Kimmie Dyer led the offense with 17 kills, backed by senior Christine Simpson with five. Junior Hallie Donathan added four aces.
The set scores for the win against Carthage were 25-19, 25-19, 25-20. Dyer led the offense again with 16 kills and a .342 attack percentage, while senior Catherine Farny added seven kills and four blocks.

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– No. 5 Eastern topped Randolph-Macon and York in three sets to sweep a home Tri-Match.
The Eagles extended their winning streak to 19 matches with the 25-17, 25-10, 25-16 win against the Yellow Jackets and the 25-14, 25-11, 25-18 win against the Spartans on Saturday.
Maria Horning had a team high hitting percentage of .462 for the Eagles against Randolph-Macon. She scored 7 kills on 13 attempts with one error. Rachel Wenger and Kearby Benak each added 7 kills. Courtney Reinhold led Eastern with 18 kills on 37 attacks, finishing with a .405 hitting percentage. Katrina Pisch scored five kills with one error on 10 attempts for a .400 hitting percentage.
In the afternoon match, Eastern hit .379 compared to York’s .022.
