DIVISION I

• UCLA is on top of the AVCA Coaches' Poll for the first time since the preseason poll in 2000. The Bruins disposed of two top-five teams last weekend in then-No. 2 Cal and then-No. 5 Stanford. This weekend, they'll be tested again, as No. 10 Washington comes to the John Wooden Center on Friday night.

• Speaking of the Huskies, they're about to endure a brutal four-game stretch. This weekend, in addition to facing top-ranked UCLA on the road, they'll also travel to No. 4 USC. Next weekend, they welcome No. 3 Stanford and No. 7 Cal.

• Eighth-ranked Hawaii takes this weekend off. The Rainbow Wahine, currently tied with Florida for the national lead in hitting percentage at .303, gets back to action on Nov. 10 against Louisiana Tech.

• Incidentally, Hawaii clinched its 16th consecutive WAC regular-season championship last week. The Rainbow Wahine are tied with Northern Iowa for the most wins (24) among top-25 teams.
