CHARLESTON, W. Va. – Seton Hill came from behind to defeat sixth-seeded Charleston by a 3-2 score, advancing to the WVIAC semifinal Friday afternoon.
Game scores were in favor of the Griffins by 26-28, 25-19, 25-13, 26-28, 15-9.
Corrine Gahagen led the victors with 21 kills while Lindsey Pavlikowski accounted for 15. Rebecca Robinson netted 13 kills. Courtney Field registered 56 assists in the contest. Olivia Matthews had 29 digs and Field added 14 for a double-double. Robinson notched four total blocks while Gahagen added three block assists.
The Golden Eagles were led by Brittany Bills and Malleri Hardison, who each posted 13 kills. Lora Goss and Cara Hibbs-Leyva added 11 apiece. Katie Williams dished out 27 assists and Kelsey Eby had 20. Ashley Douglas accounted for 24 of the team’s 73 digs while Williams earned a double-double with 14 digs. Brenna Youlton totaled seven blocks, two of which were solo.
The Griffins will square off against Alderson-Broaddus at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
