CALIFORNIA, Pa. -- Wheeling Jesuit (35-3) swept Lock Haven (21-10) 3-0 (25-18, 25-16 & 27-25) in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Wheeling Jesuit was the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) tournament champions and came in as the two-seed in the region.

Wheeling Jesuit was led by Casey Gates 13 kills and 13 digs.

Lock Haven, who were making its 14th NCAA tournament appearance, went a 12-2 in the last 14 matches of the season as they closed on a tear.

Lock Haven was led tonight by Gao Xuan , who had 10 kills and 12 digs. Grace Novacek added nine kills and two blocks. Alexa Garrity led The Haven with 29 assists. Erin Walsh tallied a team-best 14 digs. Lock Haven tried to the spark a comeback with a strong third set as the Lady Eagles recorded 16 kills. LHU recorded 11 blocks in the match.
