Puget Sound gets highest ranking in AVCA poll in nearly four years

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Puget Sound jumped to No. 11 in the AVCA’s top-25 poll. The No. 11 ranking is the team’s highest in the poll since Sep. 30, 2008.

The Loggers (5-2) began the season in the “others receiving votes” section. A 4-0 start, including two victories against nationally ranked opponents, catapulted the Logger to No. 16 in the previous AVCA poll.

After losing to previously top-ranked Christopher Newport, the Loggers scored an upset against then-No. 9 Juniata in four sets. Sunday concluded with a four-set loss to Wittenberg, which is now second ranked.

Pacific Lutheran was the only other team mentioned in the top 25 poll from the NWC, they remain at No. 20.
