DULUTH, Minn. -- Minnesota-Duluth has claimed the top spot in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll for the 10th time in school history.

The Bulldogs enter the No. 1 spot having received 33 of 48 first-place votes after winning eight consecutive to start the season. Only three teams in the top 25 remain undefeated. Last week's No. 1, Tampa, falls to the third spot after losing to new-No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul.

Head coach Jim Boos has been at the helm of UMD for each of its top AVCA rankings, with the last coming on Oct. 31, 2011. UMD has been ranked in every AVCA poll since Sept. 10, 2002, just two weeks into Boos' tenure. The Bulldogs shot to the top spot for the first time on Oct. 15 of that season, holding it for three consecutive weeks.
