WHEELING, W.Va. -- Shippensburg squared off against Pittsburgh- Johnstown (26-10) in the third matchup of the Division II Atlantic Regional. The teams played one another twice throughout the regular season, with Shippensburg winning both of the matches.

To kick off the highly anticipated match-up, Shippensburg jumped out to an early 10-4 lead against fellow competitor Pitt-Johnstown. The Mountain Cats quickly rallied, tying the game at 14 all. The teams battled for points throughout the whole set, as Shippensburg took a 20-18 lead, and held on to win the first set by a score of 25-20.

The second set began by Shippensburg scoring early, but Pitt-Johnstown kept it close. The Mountain Cats suddenly appeared to have new life, as they managed to pull away and take a 19-13 lead. However, Shippensburg responded, cutting the Pitt-Johnstown lead to 3, 20-17. The Raiders scratched and clawed their way back into the game, and tied it at 23. Shippensburg went on to win the second set by a score of 26-24, taking the 2-0 advantage in the game..

The Raiders jumped out to an early advantage in the third set by a score of 7-3. The Shippensburg lead was stretched to 5, by a score of 13-8. The biggest lead of the match came when the Raiders pulled away 23-16 late in the third. The Raiders went on to win the set by a score of 25-19, and a 3-0 victory in the match.
