Senior Tabi Love had a career-high 26 kills during a 3-1 defeat of No. 9 Hawaii and was named the Most Outstanding Player at the Verizon Volleyball Challenge this past weekend. Throughout the challenge, she posted 42 kills total and helped the Bruins to a perfect weekend at 3-0.
Lola Arslanbekova, the reigning Big East Player of the Year, led the Cardinals to two ranked wins during the weekend, including a sweep of No. 11 Purdue and a 3-2 win against No. 20 Illinois. Arslanbekova averaged 5.25 kills and 4 digs per set, including two double-doubles. She earned MVP honors in the Big East/Big Ten Challenge.
Senior Leslie Cikra was named the Most Valuable Player of the Arundel Mills Invitational after leading the Lady Vols to a spotless 3-0 weekend and tournament title with consecutive sweeps of George Washington, Boston College and Maryland. In the nine sets, Cikra committed two errors on 56 attempts and tallied 42 kills for a .714 hitting percentage for the tourney.
