Southern Cal Trojans
Key Players: Peter Kurzeka (Sr., Driver), Jeremy Davie (Soph., Two-Meter), Joel Dennerley (Sr., Goalie). Notes: The Trojans are chasing an unprecedented fourth consecutive national title and bring back all of last season’s starters. With a highly-touted freshman class USC could contend for titles for years to come. Notes: UCLA plans to mix its experienced upperclassmen with a strong group of young talent to challenge for a championship.
Notes: Cal looks to bounce back from last year’s heartbreaking championship loss to USC; it will need another outstanding season from Cutino Award winner Ivan Rackov. |

• No school from outside the state of California has ever participated in the NCAA Men’s Water Polo Championship Game. This year’s preseason Top 10 features schools exclusively from California, so there is good chance the trend will continue. • USC looks to become the first team to win four consecutive NCAA Men’s Water Polo championships. • Last season’s Peter J. Cutino Award winner, Ivan Rackov, returns to Cal for his senior season. The Cutino Award is given to the nation’s top water polo player. |
