LEWISBURG, Pa. – For the second time in three weeks the Bucknell women’s water polo team swept the Collegiate Water Polo Association weekly awards, it was announced on Monday. Senior captain Aubrey Rowe (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was named the CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week, while freshman Hallie Kennan (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Two weeks ago junior Valentina Rozas and freshman Amanda Skonezney swept the same awards.

Rowe posted five goals, seven assists and eight steals on Saturday as the Bison swept Villanova (17-3) and Mercyhurst (14-1) to go 2-0 on the weekend and improve to 3-3 overall this year. Rowe was one of three Bucknell players with four goals against the Wildcats. She added three assists for a team-high seven points. She was also strong on the defensive end with a team-high five steals.

Against Mercyhurst, Rowe piled on five more points (1g, 4a) and led the team with three steals to boost her team-leading total to 16.

Rowe, one of three Bison to start all six games this season, currently leads Bucknell with nine assists and is third on the squad with 17 points. She is just three points shy of the 250 mark in her career.

Kennan, who did not score in four games at the Michigan Kick-Off two weeks ago, racked up five goals and four assists on Saturday. She netted three goals and three assists against Villanova and followed that up with a two-goal, one-assist performance against Mercyhurst.

Kennan, who has come off the bench in all six games this year, now has five goals, four assists, four steals and two ejections drawn this season.

Rowe and Kennan will help lead the Bison into league play this coming Sunday, Feb. 15, when Bucknell plays at Maryland. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. Rowe will be facing her sister, a freshman on the Terrapins roster.
