No. 3-ranked Cal concluded the 2011 California Invitational 2-0 Saturday (Jan. 22) at Spieker Aquatics Complex, defeating Sonoma State, 19-2, in an evening match after having defeated Cal State Bakersfield, 20-3, in the morning. The Golden Bears are 3-0 on the year after defeating Cal Baptist, 16-8, on Friday night.

In the Sonoma State contest, 10 different players scored for Cal, led by sophomore Dan Ochsner and freshmen Kelly Mendoza and Jennifer Talbott with three goals apiece.

Thirteen different players scored as the Bears dominated Cal State Bakersfield, 20-3, Saturday morning. Cal scored the first 13 goals of the match, before the Roadrunners tallied a score with 33 seconds left in the third period.

Freshman Alexandra Hill and sophomore Remington Price led the Bears with three goals apiece against CS Bakersfield, while Ochsner and freshmen Ashley Young and Mendoza each had two goals.

Sophomore goalie Lindsay Dorst played the first half of the Cal State Bakersfield match and notched six saves. Freshman Kristen Stern added four saves in the second half for Cal. In the Somona State match, Dorst had five saves, Stern four saves and freshman notched two saves.
