PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior Ashley Young scored three goals and Tiera Schroeder added two more as No. 4 Cal defeated No. 10 Princeton 7-5 at the Princeton Invitational on Friday.

The Bears (6-1) led 1-0 at the end of the first quarter after Young scored with 4:59 remaining in the period. Young, Schroeder and sophomore Michelle Caron each registered a goal in the second quarter as Cal took a 4-2 lead at halftime.

Freshman Pippa Saunders scored the Bears’ only goal in the third quarter as the Tigers (0-1) cut the deficit to 5-4. But goals by Young and Schroeder again helped Cal polish things off.
