Purple Raiders get four pins and two tech falls in victory

NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- No. 10 Mount Union won nine of 10 weight classes in a decisive 43-3 Ohio Athletic Conference victory against Muskingum Tuesday.
The Purple Raiders improved to 9-0 overall and 2-0 in the OAC, while the Fighting Muskies fell to 3-7 overall and 0-1 in league action.
Mount Union had four pins in the match. Eighth-ranked Riki Reynolds started things on a strong note at 125 pounds with a pin in 53 seconds before Josh Malave at 141, Joe Spooner at 157 and Derick Hesson at 285 each won by fall.
The Raiders also got a pair of tech falls from Kevin Shadrach, a 15-0 winner at 149 pounds, and fourth-ranked Bill Schindel, a 20-3 winner at 197.
The other three wins came from Colin Dennis, who scored a 6-4 overtime win at 133; a 10-5 win from John Piechuta at 165; and Chad Teague's 7-4 win at 184.
