TCNJ grabs wins vs. ranked squads
Herr, Boniatis and Denver each go 2-0 in duals

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The College of New Jersey picked up two dual meet victories, running its winning streak to four consecutive as the 15th-ranked Lions moved past a pair of top-25 opponents on Tuesday during a quad meet at Elizabethtown College.
The Lions started the day with a thrilling 22-21 triumph over 12th-ranked York (Pa.) and added a 22-18 victory over host No. 20 Elizabethtown. The wins pushed TCNJ to 8-1 on the season.
The Lions raced out to a 7-0 lead against York as freshman Steve Godine won by decision at 125 pounds and sophomore Dan Herr followed with a 17-4 major decision at 133.
After the Spartans took a 9-7 lead, TCNJ reeled off four consecutive wins as Dave Kiley at 157, Justin Bonitatis at 165 and Mike Denver at 184 each won by decision. Brian Broderick earned extra points winning by fall at 174 pounds to put the Lions in front 22-9.
TCNJ capped the day with a win over Elizabethtown after the Lions broke a 15-15 tie with back-to-back wins in the upper weight classes. Sophomore Mike Kiley broke the tie with a win at 184 pounds, posting a 4-0 victory while Denver won in convincing fashion at 197 with a 17-4 major decision. The wins secured the team victory for TCNJ as it led 22-15 heading into the final bout which Elizabethtown heavyweight Tim Katzaman won by a 6-3 decision.
