WAVERLY, Iowa -- Top-ranked Wartburg won its annual Dick Walker Invite with 159.5 points on Saturday. Five Knights won their respective weight classes.

Sophomore Kenny Anderson earned a 7-1 decision against Jacob Colon of Iowa Central in the 125-pound championship match.

Classmate Landon Williams had a 3-1 decision against George Markou of Trine at 165, senior Dylan Azinger registered a 5-3 decision against Ryan Pieper of Trine and classmate Byron Tate earned an 8-3 decision against Kolton Kersten of Iowa Central.

Sophomore Ryan Fank had a 2-0 decision against Logan Johnson of Iowa Central to take the 285-pound title. Tate was also named the meet’s outstanding wrestler.

The Orange and Black also had 12 other wrestlers place in the top six.

Junior Gilberto Camacho placed third in the 125 class, while classmate Tommy Mirocha and sophomore Nathan Yoshimura placed second and siixth, respectively at 133.

In the 141 class, junior Andrew Johnson and senior Michael Kremer took 3rd and 6th, respectively while freshman Drew Wagenhoffer and junior Matt Vericillo placed third and fourth respectively at 149.

The Knights had two top-six finishers at 157 in sophomore Cole Welter was second and junior Cameron Wagner was fourth.

Senior Ben Scott took second in the 174-pound class and sophomore Sam Upah placed third at 184.

Freshman Kevin Hein’s third-place finish in 197 completed the contingent.
