PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- No. 22 Johnson & Wales swept a quad match with Springfield Technical CC, Norwich and Southern Maine at the Harborside Recreation Center on Sunday.

In the first two matches of the afternoon, JWU posted a commanding 38-3 win against Springfield Tech while Southern Maine had a 37-9 win against Norwich. The Wildcats then earned an impressive 39-0 shutout against Norwich while Southern Maine improved to 2-0 on the day with a 33-24 victory against Springfield Tech. 

In the final matches, JWU tallied a 28-14 Pilgrim League victory against Southern Maine while Springfield Tech wrapped up its day with a 25-24 win against Norwich.

Johnson & Wales was led by freshman Frank Marotti, who recorded two major decisions and one win via pin fall on the afternoon. Junior Blake McNulty had three wins, including a pair via technical falls, while junior Connor Nelson also had three wins with a pair of pin falls for the Wildcats.

Freshman Zachary Dipini also notched three victories on the day for Southern Maine while junior Peter Gilman added three victories, including two via pin fall, for the Huskies.

Simeone Everett paced Springfield Tech with three victories while Anthony Pimental had a pair of wins.

Norwich was led by sophomore Samuel Kent, who had two wins.

With the three team victories, Johnson & Wales is now 10-2 in dual matches on the season and a perfect 3-0 in the Pilgrim League.
