No. 1 Wartburg blanks Cornell (Iowa)

Knights extend Iowa Conference dual win streak to 155 matches

WAVERLY, Iowa — For the second time in a week, top-ranked Wartburg defeated its opponent in shutout fashion. The Knights (14-1 overall, 4-0 IIAC) defeated sixth-ranked Cornell (Iowa) (6-3, 1-1) by a 44-0 margin on Saturday night.

Fourth-ranked Kodie Silvestri and brought his winning streak to 12 consecutive matches while top-ranked Byron Tate extended his winning streak to 11.

Brice Gretch recorded his eighth pin of the year, Kenny Anderson tallied his ninth and Ryan Fank earned his team-best 12th pin of the season.

Landon Williams ranked sixth in Division III, upset fourth-ranked Joe Hableton by a 7-3 decision.

Drew Wagenhoffer reached the 20-win mark on the season with his victory.

With the win, the Orange and Black move their Iowa Conference dual streak to 155 consecutive matches.
