ELMHURST, Ill. - Elmhurst dominated Loras 43-9 in its final tuneup before next week's CCIW championship.

Elmhurst finished the season with a 12-1 dual meet record  and honored itssenior members its squad in a pre-game ceremony. The Bluejays rolled through the DuHawks, winning seven of the nine matches contested, including five by pin.

Ranked second in the latest NWCA national poll, the Bluejays took a quick 6-0 lead when Miguel Venecia earned a forfeit at 125 pounds. Third-ranked Dalton Bullard followed by making short work of Mitchell Johnson, scoring a first-round pin in 1:46.

Ryan Earley, ranked third at 141 pounds followed with a first-round pin of Colin Griffin in 2:19 to put Elmhurst on top 18-0.

Loras (10-13) got on the scoreboard at 149 pounds when Greg Vance scored a late takedown and pinned Maxx Lozano towards the end of the second period (4:58).  Nick DiNardo gave Elmhurst a 16-point cushion in the dual when he scored a 14-6 major decision over Ben Kindle at 157 pounds.

Wrestling his final home dual, senior Yousef Al-Ghoul pinned Loras' Russ Gosen in 4:36 at 165 pounds to give Elmhurst a 28-6 lead. Danny Balderas, ranked ninth at 174 pounds, followed with an 8-4 win against Stephan Birt at 184 pounds.

Top-ranked Joe Rau needed just 1:57 to pin Mathias Palmersheim at 184 pounds and give Elmhurst a 37-6 lead. Fifth-ranked Mike Benefiel made it 43-6 in favor of the Bluejays after he pinned Malcolm Watson in 1:15 at 197 pounds.

Loras' James Buss, ranked seventh in the latest NWCA poll, escaped with a one-point victory against Elmhurst's Jack Lewis at 285 pounds in the night's closest contest.
