2014 Men’s Basketball
Championship
Ashland flew by Dowling in a 71-56 decision to earn the program's first DII Women's Basketball Championship. Kari Daugherty drained 26 points and had 12 rebounds in the win.

Kari Daugherty started her collegiate career at Dayton before transferring to Ashland. She made a move closer to home, a name for herself and now has helped lead Ashland to its first national title.

When Ashland and Dowling meet in Friday's national championship game, two Division I transfers could determine the outcome -- Dowling's Danielle Wilson and Ashland's Kari Daugherty.

Ashland defeated Western Washington 66-54 in semifinal action on Wednesday in a battle of No. 1 seeds. The Eagles will take on third-seeded Dowling for the national crown on Friday.
