D-III 25th Anniversary Honorees Announced

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee has announced the student-athletes selected to represent the best men’s and women’s indoor track and field champions of the past 25 years. The men’s representative is Karl Paranya from Haverford College, who competed from 1993-1997. Karl was a six-time indoor all-America and won five NCAA indoor championships, three in the 1,500m and two in the 800m. In 1997 he set a Division III indoor record in the 1,500m (3:47.72). The women’s’ representative is Amber James from Wheaton College (Massachusetts), who competed from 2000-2004. Amber was a 10-time indoor all-America and a seven-time NCAA indoor champion. She won the 400m all four years of her collegiate career and was a member of the 4x400m team that won the NCAA championship three times. She was the 2002 NCAA Track and Field Honda Award recipient, which recognizes the top female collegiate athlete in each of 12 NCAA sports. James helped Wheaton sweep three straight indoor national titles.
