NCAA Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee has selected the teams that will compete in the 2009 NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Championships.

The championships will be held May 29-31 at Cooper River Park in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  Villanova University will serve as host.

The team championships are comprised of 16 teams and each team is required to field two boats of eight rowers and one boat of four rowers.

In 2008, Brown claimed its second consecutive national title at the NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Championships May 30-June 1, 2008, at Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, California.

Highlights of the Divisions I, II and III Women’s Rowing Championships will appear on the 2009 CBS Sports Presents Championships of the NCAA (spring seasonal show), set to air at 2 p.m. Eastern time Saturday, July 4 on CBS.
