2010 Skiing Championships Host Site Announced
INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Men’s and Women’s Skiing Committee today announced the 2010 NCAA Men’s and Women Skiing Championships will be held in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and be hosted by the University of Colorado, Boulder. The slalom and Nordic events will be held at Howelsen Hill, while the giant slalom will be held at Mount Werner at the Steamboat Mountain Resort. “The committee is excited to return to Steamboat Springs for the 2010 Championships,” said Drew Galbraith, chair of the Men’s and Women’s Skiing committee. “The hospitality and enthusiasm for this event in the local community, combined with the quality of the venues at Howelson Hill and Steamboat Springs Resort will provide an outstanding environment for the student-athletes.” Steamboat Springs has a long history of also hosting the NCAA Championships as this will be the sixth time they have hosted the event. The championships were also held there in 1968, 1969, 1979, 1993 and 1996. |
