Nov. 25, 2008
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -Middle Tennessee baseball coach Steve Peterson is recovering after having a quintuple heart bypass. The 57-year-old had surgery Monday, two days after he started having chest pains and was admitted to a hospital. Athletic director Chris Massaro said the school's Web site will keep fans updated on Peterson's recovery. He asked people not to visit the coach at the hospital. Peterson has coached the Blue Raiders for 20 seasons and is 663-531-3 with eight NCAA tournament appearances. Middle Tennessee is coming off a 27-29-1 season that was just the sixth losing record of Peterson's tenure. |
