While there are critical conference matchups all over the country this weekend, the SEC takes center stage when two contenders for the SEC West crown meet in Oxford and one of the hardest-hitting series in the league sees its latest installment kickoff from Baton Rouge.

Week 6's Can't Miss Games

Saturday, Oct. 10 - Georgia Tech at Florida State
Potential ACC championship game matchup? It could be. Georgia Tech has the tough task of dealing with Virginia Tech in the Coastal Division, but these two teams appear capable of meeting in Tampa come December. The pair missed each other last year, so this will be the first chance the Seminoles get to face that Paul Johnson triple-option offense that did better than almost anyone expected in `08. That Yellow Jackets attack should be a well-oiled machine this fall.

Saturday, Oct. 10 - Alabama at Ole Miss
This is a huge test for the Rebels. Should both teams reach this date undefeated we could easily be looking at a top-10 matchup in Oxford. The Tide took a narrow victory in Tuscaloosa last year after heading into halftime with a 24-3 lead. Winner of this game will have the inside track - albeit an early inside track - on the SEC West Division race. Both teams don't play LSU until November.

Saturday, Oct. 10 - Florida at LSU
This will be the marquee game in the SEC as evidenced by the fact CBS will carry it nationally at 3:30 pm ET. When these two meet, leave the women and children at home. Some of the hardest-hitting, most physical football games over the past several seasons have featured these two teams lining up and slamming the stuffing out of each other. Shouldn't be any different this year. Last time Florida ventured out to Baton Rouge, they walked away with a four-point loss. But last year the Gators laid a hurtin' on the Tigers, to the tune of a 51-21 victory. Florida is absolutely loaded this year for another run at the BCS Championship, but chances are you won't see a 30-point victory in Death Valley.

Other Games To Keep An Eye On

Saturday, Oct. 10 - Colorado at Texas
The Buffs have been known to pull off an upset or two per season. The Longhorns will only be seven days away from their annual showdown with hated rival Oklahoma. Could Texas possibly overlook the Buffs?

Saturday, Oct. 10 - Wisconsin at Ohio State
This will be the second straight road game for the Badgers who will be in the middle of a tough stretch. The following week Wisconsin heads to Iowa.

Saturday, Oct. 10 - Baylor at Oklahoma
Most would readily dismiss this matchup based on pedigree, but don't overlook Baylor entirely. Especially not with Robert Griffin under center.
