The University of Nebraska (UNL), chartered in 1869, is an educational institution of international stature. A member of the Association of American Universities since 1909, Nebraska is recognized by the Carnegie Foundation as a Doctoral/Research Extensive university. UNL is a land-grant university and a member of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC). The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. UNL celebrated the 140th anniversary of its founding on Feb. 15, 2009. Omaha Sports Commission
Formed in 2003, the Omaha Sports Commission is a non-profit group dedicated to making Omaha "THE" leading amateur sports community in America. The Commission works closely with area businesses and community leaders to help recruit and promote area sporting events.
Our team is involved in every aspect of local sporting events. Working diligently to ensure Omaha is considered and ultimately chosen during the selection process; managing logistics before, during and after the event; maximizing publicity to ensure that every seat is filled and actively promoting our community as the elite amateur sporting event host.
