
Kentucky took a major step forward as a program at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships on Saturday at Irwin Belk Track, sending a total of 10 competitors to the national championships.

One day after advancing three athletes in the discus and five overall, the Longhorns added five more qualifiers Friday, including three in the shot put, headlined by national leader Ryan Crouser.

LSU enjoyed an outstanding day of qualifying in Thursday’s opener at the 2013 NCAA East Preliminary Rounds as five Tigers and Lady Tigers earned their spot in the NCAA semifinals.
