April 14, 2009
SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - Former Boston College women's basketball coach Cathy Inglese will be introduced as the new coach at the University of Rhode Island. The university scheduled a news conference Tuesday to make the announcement. Inglese resigned from BC last year after 15 seasons. She won 20 games eight times and reached the NCAA tournament in seven of her last 10 seasons. She'll replace Tom Garrick, who went 56-112 in five seasons at Rhode Island. Garrick was a star player on the Rhode Island team and later played in the NBA for the Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks. |
