Lincoln - Six Nebraska bowlers were honored as All-Americans as the National Tenpin Coaches Association announced its selection on Monday, June. 16.

Sophomore Cassandra Leuthold, a sophomore from Black Hawk, S.D., headlined the first-team All-American list, while Katie Ann Sopp, a freshman from Maple Wood, Minn., earned first-team Academic All-America honors for the Huskers. Leuthold earned the prestigious honors after leading the NCAA with a 205.7 average over 57 games. Leuthold placed first in two regular-season tournaments before guiding the Huskers to their fifth-consecutive NCAA championship berth.

Joining Leuthold with All-America honors was senior Lindsay Baker and freshman Katie Ann Sopp, who both earned second-team honors, while freshman Jasmine Laugerman earned a spot on the honorable mention team.

Sopp claimed first-team NTCA Academic All-American honors after a stellar freshman season. Not only did she compete in every Husker tournament, but she was the only newcomer to earn a collegiate tournament title. In the classroom, Sopp was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Laugerman joined Sopp with second-team Academic All-America honors, while junior Kaleena Henning (North Platte, Neb.) and Kayla Stram (Grand Rapids, Minn.) rounded out the selections with honorable mention honors
