Utah Valley: Thatcher, Archibald finish Strong at State Amateur

Former Utah Valley Golfer Echo Thatcher finished tied for fifth place at this week's Utah Women's State Amateur at Hill Air Force Base with a final score of 72-76-75--223. Sophomore Abbie Archibald also finished third in the second flight with a three-day total of 79-76-83--238.

Thatcher, who finished her collegiate career in 2008, was 12 shots back in ninth place heading into the final round. She finished just 10 shots off the lead as Daphne Vines and Lachell Poffenberger each tallied three-round totals of 213.

Junior Sarah Coop and former UV golfers Monica and Stephanie Fox also participated in the tournament.
