Dubuque Falls To Concordia-Moorhead In NCAA First Round

Courtesy of Dubuque The University of Dubuque women's soccer team picked to finish fifth in the league, overcame the under dog status en route to winning the 2009 Iowa Conference Women's Tournament and finishing the 2009 season with its best record in school history and it's first play-off appearance. An amazing 15 wins showed their opponents this season, the UD Spartans are among the best in Division III and in the NCAA Division III North Region. Their hopes of extending their wins ended on Saturday night at Macalester College in St. Paul, MInnesota, the hosts of the First Round NCAA Championship contest, in a loss 0-2 to the #1 seed and unbeaten Concordia-Moorehead Cobbers whose team is comprised of 14 upperclassmen. |
