Navy broke nine Forbush Natatorium records on its way to a 219-81 win over Vermont in swimming and diving on Saturday afternoon. Navy improved to 9-0 on the year with the win, as it entered the meet ranked 10th in the latest CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll.

Senior Molly MacMillan (Doylestown, Pa.) picked up the only Catamount (8-5) win on the afternoon, as she finished first in the 500 freestyle and broke her own pool record with a time of 5:04.46. Vermont took three of the top four spots in the event, as senior Colleen Clark (Unionville, Conn.) finished third and sophomore Katie Heenan (Clarendon Hills, Ill.) placed fourth.

Vermont also earned five-second place finishes on the day. MacMillan placed second in the 1,000 freestyle in a time of 10:20.73, while junior Kate Weaver (South Burlington, Vt.) earned a runner-up finish in the 200 free (1:54.20). Freshmen Nicole Peruso (Branford, Conn.), Melissa Wheeler (Roanoke, Va.) and Kailey Gardner (Ithaca, N.Y.) also came in second in the 200 butterfly (2:12.95), three-meter dive (228.97) and 400 IM (4:36.67).

"Our team learned a lot and raced pretty well against a very good opponent today. We competed and fought hard, and now I think we are ready to take it to the next level," said Vermont head coach Gerry Cournoyer.

Vermont returns to action next Saturday when it hosts Northeastern at 12 p.m. as part of "Senior Day" for six Catamount student-athletes.
