  • How many players will be attending the NCAA College Basketball Academy?
    A total of up to 1,600 prospective student-athletes, including seniors (2021), juniors (2022) and sophomores (2023). There will be up to 400 players assigned to each site, with 200 per session. Each participant will attend one session only.
  • How will academy participants be selected?
    Each prospective student-must be registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center and must nominate himself to be considered. More detailed information about the player selection process will be released at a later date.
  • What is the deadline for prospective student-athletes to nominate themselves for academy consideration?
    The deadline for prospective student-athletes to nominate themselves is 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, May 8.
  • When will a prospective student-athlete be notified if he is invited to attend the NCAA College Basketball Academy?
    Prospective student-athletes who have been invited to participate will be notified via email no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, May 22.
  • If I have created a profile through the NCAA Eligibility Center but not paid for a certification account, can I nominate myself for academy consideration?
    Yes. Any prospective student-athlete who has created a profile can nominate himself for consideration.
  • What are the dates of the NCAA College Basketball Academy?                                                                                                                                                               Session I at each regional site will be July 20-23, 2020 (Monday-Thursday) and Session II at each regional site will be July 23-26, 2020(Thursday-Sunday).
  • What are the four regional academy sites?
    University of Utah (Salt Lake City, Utah, WEST), the University of Winthrop (Rock Hill, South Carolina, SOUTH), Wichita State University (Wichita, Kansas, MIDWEST) and the University of Connecticut (Storrs, Connecticut, EAST)
  • Who will be the NCAA College Basketball Academy coaches?
    Academy coaches will be selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and may be composed of regional Division II and Division III men’s college basketball coaches, regional boys basketball high school coaches, former NBA players.
  • Will Division I men’s college basketball coaches be allowed to attend?
    Yes. Division I men’s college basketball coaches will be permitted to attend July 21-26, 2020.
  • What is Teamworks?
    Teamworks is our main communication channel to all Academy participants and their parent/legal guardian.
  • Will Division I men’s college basketball coaches be allowed to attend?
    Yes. Division I men’s college basketball coaches will be permitted to attend July 21-26, 2020.
