Texas Bowl is canceled

On Tuesday, the Texas Bowl announced that it has been canceled for this season due to "an increased number of positive COVID-19 tests and other circumstances within the TCU football program."

Notre Dame football provides COVID-19 testing update

On Monday, Notre Dame football announced that 189 COVID-19 tests were administered to student-athletes last week. None of those tests came back positive. 

The Fighting Irish will face Alabama in the semifinals of the College Football Playoff on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.

2020 Music City Bowl canceled

The Music City Bowl announced that its 2020 game has been canceled due to Missouri being unable to play with too many COVID-19 cases. The game was originally scheduled for Dec. 30. 

“I want to thank the hard work of those involved in helping plan this year’s bowl, which we were prepared to host this week,” Scott Ramsey, President & CEO of the TransPerfect Music City Bowl said. “Unfortunately, Missouri’s high positive COVID-19 numbers have resulted in the cancelation of this game. We look forward to planning for 2021.”

The Gasparilla Bowl announced that its 2020 game has been canceled due to South Carolina being unable to play with too many COVID-19 cases. The game was originally scheduled for Dec. 26.

Army replaces Tennessee in 2020 Liberty Bowl

On Monday, Tennessee announced it is pausing all team activities and will not be able to compete in the 2020 Liberty Bowl against West Virginia on Thursday, Dec. 31. The decision comes after "an increase in positive cases among student-athletes and staff and subsequent contact tracing."

Later that evening, Army announced that it would replace Tennessee in the game

The Military Bowl announced that its 2020 game has been canceled due to the amount of bowl game opt-outs this college football season. The game was originally scheduled for Dec. 28.

On Sunday, the College Football Playoff selection committee announced that the 2020-21 playoff field will feature No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 2 Clemson vs. No. 3 Ohio State.

College Football Playoff semifinal will be moved from the Rose Bowl to AT&T Stadium

This season's College Football Playoff semifinal that was originally scheduled to be played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., will now be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, according to a statement from CFP Executive Director Bill Hancock. It is still slated for Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.

Both the CFP Management Committee and the Tournament of Roses mutually agreed to this decision, due to the "growing number of COVID-19 cases in Southern California."
