Live updates from the NCAA DI men's lacrosse championship

The quarterfinals of the 2022 DI men's lacrosse tournament began on Saturday with two matches. 

Saturday began with No. 6 Rutgers defeating No. 3 Penn to advance to face Sunday's winner in No. 7 Cornell vs. Delaware in the semifinals next weekend. No. 5 Princeton then took down No. 4 Yale in the second quarterfinal matchup of the day, setting up a date with either No. 1 Maryland or Virginia.

• No. 5 Princeton 14, No. 4 Yale 10
• No. 7 Cornell 10, Delaware 8

The first round of the 2022 DI men's lacrosse tournament finished up on Sunday with four games. Seeded teams swept the day until the final matchup where Delaware knocked off No. 2 Georgetown in dramatic fashion.

Here are Sunday's first-round results:

• No. 1 Maryland 21, Vermont 5
• No. 7 Cornell 15, Ohio St. 8
• No. 6 Rutgers 19, Harvard 9

The 2022 NCAA D Men's Lacrosse Championship gets underway today with two opening round games on Wednesday night, following Monday's selection show and championship announcement. The winners of today's games will advance to the first round to face the top two seeds in the field on Sunday, May 15.

Here's the schedule for Wednesday's games:

The field for the 2022 DI men's lacrosse tournament will be revealed Sunday, May 8 at 9 p.m. ET live on ESPNU. Eighteen teams will make it into this year's tournament. It will begin May 11 with the opening round games.

The 2022 national championship will be held Monday, May 30 at Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in Hartford, Connecticut. 

Virginia claimed its second-straight title and seventh in program history in 2021. The Cavaliers are now third on the list of teams with the most titles. Syracuse leads the way with 10 and Johns Hopkins is second with 9.
