Hardwood Heroes
WHEN: Friday, April 5
WHERE: U.S. Bank Stadium
COST: FREE admittance to the public
On April 5 two teams of cancer survivors will play on the same floor as Final Four participants at the Final Four Venue to raise awareness in the fight to end cancer. The game, open to both the media and the public, is in its third year and is an event resulting from INFINITI’s long-standing partnership with Coaches vs. Cancer®, the American Cancer Society, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the NCAA and CBS/Turner.
The teams will be formed in February when INFINITI invited 14 young men and women who have survived cancer to join a basketball team to raise awareness for Coaches vs. Cancer. After three days of tryouts and practice, the players will be divided into two teams.
Now in its ninth year as a Corporate Partner of the NCAA, INFINITI has pledged to make donations to Coaches vs. Cancer totaling $700,000 through its Round by Round brackets on CBSSports.com/infiniti. For each correct pick made by a fan in a Round by Round bracket, INFINITI will donate more money to cancer research.
