Top-ranked Princeton (6:32.224), California (6:36.797) and Brown (6:41.4970) earned preliminary heat victories to highlight the action in the Division I Eights. Michigan State finished second to the Tigers in Heat #2 with a time of 6:37.812, followed by Minnesota (6:39.324). Ohio State (6:43.370) trailed Brown in Heat #1, followed by USC and Yale in a dead heat (6:44.812) in the very first race of the day. Washington State (6:38.590) and UCLA (6:39.281) rounded out the top three in Heat #3. All 10 boats advanced to the semifinals May 27 at 10:30 and 10:45 a.m.

In the Eights Repechage, Washington (6:23.471), Notre Dame (6:25.985) and Stanford (6:26.856) punched tickets to the semifinals with top-three finishes. Tennessee (6:27.617), Boston University (6:31.503) and Wisconsin (6:31.923) will row May 27 at 11:00 a.m. to determine places 14-16.

Brown set the pace in the Second Eights, winning Heat #2 with a time of 6:45.473. Ohio State earned the victory in the first heat, crossing the line in 6:54.456. Both crews advanced directly to the Grand Final May 28 at 11:15 a.m., while the other 10 boats will row in the Repechages May 27 at 10:00 and 10:15 a.m.

Cal posted the best time of the morning in the Fours (7:25.241) to win the second heat. Brown will join the Bears in the Grand Final (May 28, 10:45 a.m.), winning Heat #1 with a time of 7:30.177. The rest of the field will square off in the Repechages May 27 at 9:30 and 9:45 a.m.
