The Vanderbilt baseball team jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. VU starting pitcher Sonny Gray kept the Hoosier offense guessing all game as the Commodores cruised past Indiana 10-0 in a elimination game at the Louisville Regional Saturday afternoon at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Gray threw eight innings of shut-out baseball, scattering seven hits while striking out 10. It marked the second consecutive outing that Gray has posted double digit strikeouts.

Vanderbilt got a lead-off home run from Brian Harris in the bottom of the first and than put the game away in the fifth inning when they plated five more runs in the fifth, making the score 8-0. Steven Liddle and Riley Reynolds had three hits a piece to lead the Commodores while Jonathan White extended his season-high hitting streak to 10 games with two hits Saturday.
