Embry-Riddle scored a run in the first and three in the second and made them stand up for a 4-3 win over the fourth-ranked Moccasins Tuesday night at Henley Field.

Zach Maggard drove in all three Moccasin runs with a three-run homer in the bottom of the second, his ninth of the season, and that was the end of the scoring.

The Moccasins left runners on base in five different innings, but were unable to advance anyone beyond second base.

Embry-Riddle starter Ryan Vigue (4-2) pitched into the sixth inning and recorded the win.  Corey Bevis allowed just one hit and struck out six in 3.2 scoreless innings in relief to pick up his second save.

Jake Guengerich, who gave up all four of the Eagles' runs, took the loss, dropping his record to 3-2.

Embry-Riddle improved to 33-14 with the win, while the Moccasins slipped to 37-7.

The Moccasins and Tampa clash in a key Sunshine State Conference series at Tampa this weekend with first place on the line.  Both teams have three league losses, but Tampa is 18-3, while the Moccasins are 12-3.  Friday night's single game starts at 6 p.m. and Saturday's doubleheader is set for a 1 p.m. start.
