CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Sam Gaviglio struck out 11 in a five-hitter and Garrett Nash homered in Oregon State’s 5-1 victory against Creighton on Saturday night in the NCAA Corvallis Regional.

Gaviglio (12-2) helped the Beavers (40-17) advance to a Sunday night game against the winner of an elimination game between Creighton (45-15) and Georgia.

Oregon State, the designated visiting team, scored a run in the first on a passed ball by Creighton starter Ty Blach (10-3) and never trailed.

The Beavers added another run in the second on Ryan Barnes’s groundout.

Creighton’s Mike Gerber cut it 2-1 in the fifth with a two-out home run, and Oregon State countered in the sixth on Carter Bell’s RBI single.

Nash homered leading off the ninth, and Andrew Susac added an RBI double with two outs.
