Norris' sacrifice fly in eighth inning brings in go-ahead run
CORVALLIS, Ore. — Jared Norris drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to help Oregon State advance in the NCAA tournament with a 6-4 victory against Georgia on Sunday night.
The top-seeded Beavers (41-17), who won College World Series titles in 2006 and 2007, won three consecutive home games to advance to face Vanderbilt in the Super Regionals. The site will be announced Monday.
Third-seeded Georgia (33-32) had to beat Creighton earlier in the day to advance to the nightcap against the Beavers in the double-elimination regional.
Adam Duke (1-0) pitched 1.1 innings for the win. Tony Bryant worked the ninth for his 12th save.
Eric Swegman pitched one inning, allowing one run on two hits in the loss.
