WINCHESTER, Va. -- No. 21 Shenandoah bounced back with a 9-2 non-league baseball victory against King's (Pa.).

Shenandoah had 13 hits against four Monarchs pitchers and scored eight of the game's first nine runs.

Bryce Sears (1-0) allowed one run on four hits and three walks in 7.0 innings of work.

He struck out six before turning it over to Kyle Gladu for the final six outs.

SU scored two runs in the first, on RBI singles from Cory Nelson and Dan Powers, before getting two more in the third, two in the fourth and two in the sixth.

Nick Beall led the offense with a 3-4 afternoon that included two RBIs while Nelson, Powers, Kurt Krout and Jake Pendergraft all had two hits.

Seven of nine Hornet starters had at least one hit and one that didn't, Joey Donofrio, drove in a run with a fourth-inning sacrifice fly.

Eric Bohem had two hits for KC.

Brenton Eades (0-1) took the loss for the Monarchs. He gave up four runs on nine hits and one walk in 2 1/3 innings.
