GREENWOOD, S.C. -- Lander's Dylan Wolchick tossed a two-hit shutout Friday to lead No. 2 Lander to a 1-0 Peach Belt Conference victory against Georgia Southwestern in the first game of a three-game series at Dolny Stadium.

Lander improved to 26-5 overall and 16-3 in the PBC, while GSW slipped to 11-21, 2-13.

Wolchick, who improved to 6-1 on the season, struck out nine and walked one in 29 batters faced.

GSW's Frank Ambrosino (0-6) took the loss after striking out seven, walking one and allowing one unearned run on eight hits in 7.1 innings.

Lander scored the lone run of the game in the first inning when Graham Ramos singled, advanced to second on an error and scored on Weston Lawing's RBI single.

For Lander, Connor Lewis batted 2-for-3 with two doubles, Colby Painter went 2-for-3 and Ramos 2-for-4.
