JACKSON, Miss. -- Wes Perkins had three hits and three runs driven in to lead Millsaps to a three-game sweep of No. 20 Birmingham-Southern to take sole possession of first in the SAA.

In a game that was moved to Smith Wills Stadium in Jackson, the Majors simply rolled with the change of scenery. After the Majors fell down 2-0 after a two-run Panther first, the Majors calmly responded with two of their own.

Wes Perkins and Samuel Doucet each had run scoring doubles in the two-run first. Millsaps would chase Panther starter Kyle Royalty in the second, racking up four runs. William Chenoweth tripled to the left center gap, scoring Will Lawrence. Jerrod Myers speed brought home the second run of the inning, stealing second and forcing an errant throw to score Chenoweth. Perkins would clear the bases with a ground rule double to make it 6-0.

Majors starter Daniel Ross would play with fire but not get burned over the next several innings. Ross consistently made big pitches and got double plays from a sterling Majors' defense to keep the Panther scoreless.

Ross would hand the ball over to Zander Romano who threw four and a third innings of scoreless relief to get the win. Romano struck out seven, walked just one and scattered three hits to get the win.

The Majors now sit at 26-8 on the year and 15-3 in the SAA.
