Reynolds' three hits, two runs keeps Texas A&M alive in 5-4 win against UCSB
CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Mikey Reynolds had three hits and scored two runs as Texas A&M downed UC Santa Barbara 5-4 to eliminate the Gauchos from the Corvallis regional Sunday.
Rafael Pineda (6-5) earned the win for Texas A&M (34-28) going 6.2 innings with three earned runs and four strikeouts. Robby Nesovic (4-4) took the loss for UCSB (35-25).
Second-seeded Texas A&M faces top-seeded Oregon State on Sunday night in an elimination game for the Aggies.
Texas A&M got to Nesovic in the first with Reynolds' leadoff double and Hunter Melton's RBI single. The Aggies added three more in the third, highlighted by a two-run double by Cole Lankford.
After Santa Barbara scored in the sixth, Texas A&M upped the lead to 5-1 in the seventh on Jace Statum's sacrifice fly.
The Gauchos answered with three runs on four hits in the bottom half, but it was as close as they could come.
