The Liberty Flames are ranked No. 30 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) poll, released late Monday afternoon. It is the first time in program history that the Flames have been ranked in one of the four national baseball polls during the regular season.
After posting a 36-29 record and winning the Big South championship in 2013, Liberty finished the year ranked 26th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll.
Virginia stayed at No. 1 in the NCBWA poll, while No. 2 went to Louisiana-Lafayette and Cal Poly moved up from sixth to third.
