Liberty Athletics | April 14, 2014 Liberty gets first in-season ranking in history Share The Liberty Flames are ranked No. 30 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) poll, released late Monday afternoon. It is the first time in program history that the Flames have been ranked in one of the four national baseball polls during the regular season. DIVISION I NCBWA POLL • Complete Poll The Flames, 29-8, are also received votes in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and USA Today Coaches polls. The Flames swept Longwood this past weekend and are on a seven-game winning streak. After posting a 36-29 record and winning the Big South championship in 2013, Liberty finished the year ranked 26th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll. Virginia stayed at No. 1 in the NCBWA poll, while No. 2 went to Louisiana-Lafayette and Cal Poly moved up from sixth to third.
