NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Aaron Payne led off the 10th inning with a walk, stole second and scored the tiebreaking run on Xavier's fifth error in Oregon's 11-8 victory Sunday in an elimination game in NCAA play.
The Ducks (44-19) advanced to face host Vanderbilt on Sunday night, needing a victory to force another game Monday.

After Payne scored, Mitchell Tolman added an RBI triple and Tyler Baumgartner's bunt scored Tolman. Jake Reed, the Ducks fifth pitcher, closed the 10th out with a flyout and two groundouts.
Andre Jernigan hit a three-run homer in the top of the sixth as the Musketeers (30-29) scored five runs with two outs to take a 5-3 lead. Daniel Rizzie hit another three-run shot in the seventh to make it 8-3.
Kyle Garlick trimmed the Musketeers' lead to 8-6 with a three-run homer in the eighth. The Ducks tied it in the ninth on Payne's RBI single and two errors.
