The Associated Press | June 2, 2014 Pepperdine tops Cal Poly for regional title Share SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Bryan Langlois hit a go-ahead bases-loaded triple in the ninth inning and Pepperdine advanced to the Super Regionals with a 10-6 victory against host Cal Poly in the San Luis Obispo Regional on Sunday. The Waves (42-16) got past the regional round for the first time since the winning the College World Series title in 1992. The Mustangs (47-12) had come all the way back from a 5-0 deficit to tie it at 6 with a two-run rally in the bottom of the eighth. Left-hander Taylor Chris took the loss after mostly handcuffing Pepperdine through a season-high 6.1 innings in relief of starter Danny Zandona. Pepperdine struck for five runs in a two-out rally against Zandona in the second inning.
