College World Series -- What to Watch: June 14

Did You Know: TCU matched a school record for players drafted in a season with eight when shortstop Keaton Jones and pitcher Mitchell Traver were taken on the final day of the MLB Draft. Eight players were also taken in 2011. Jones and Traver joined Alex Young, Tyler Alexander, Riley Ferrell, Cody Jones, Preston Morrison and Trey Teakell as draftees.   Did You Know: The Tigers have won more games than any Division I team in the country. They are second and fourth in country in hits and team batting average  LSU's has 734 hits and a .316 team batting average.
On the Bump: Preston Morrison is TCU's all-time leader in starts and innings and is second in wins. The three-time All-American has never won a postseason game and is 0-3 with five no-decisions.   On the Bump: Sophomore lefty Jared Poche' is 9-1 this season with a 2.91 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 105 innings. He is 2-0 in those two postseason appearances with a 0.55 ERA, two walks and 15 strikeouts in 16.1 innings.
In the Box: Using baseball jargon -- Cody Jones can rake. The TCU senior has a .371 batting average and has stolen 31 bases.   In the Box: Alex Bregman was the No. 2 overall pick in the MLB Draft. The Tigers' shortstop led the SEC in stolen bases this season.
Pepper: TCU advanced to the CWS with a 16-inning, nearly six-hour victory against Texas A&M in its Super Regional at home, a week after trailing NC State 8-1 with two outs in the eighth inning of the regional final.
• LSU has the highest all-time NCAA tournament winning percentage (139-53, .724), and the Tigers are appearing in the NCAA tournament for the 28th time.
• TCU is advancing to its third College World Series in the past six years.
• LSU enters the College World Series No. 2 in the nation in base hits (734) and No. 4 in the nation in team batting average (.316). The LSU pitching staff is No. 10 in the nation with a 2.84 team ERA..

Did You Know: This is the Titans 17th trip to Omaha, but the first at the current venue, T.D. Ameritrade Park. The 16 previous treks and all four of the school's national championships were celebrated on the turf of Rosenblatt Stadium.   Did You Know:  The Vanderbilt bullpen is unstoppable. In five NCAA tournament games, Commodore relievers have pitched 14 innings and not allowed a run.
On the Bump:  Righty Thomas Eshelman (8-5),  leads the nation in strikeouts-to-walks ratio. He was a second-round pick of the Houston Astros.   On the Bump: Vandy will stick with its regular pitching rotation and junior right-hander Carson Fulmer will get the start.
In the Box: The offensive leader of the self-proclaimed 'misfits,' Josh Vargas leads the Titans with a .340 average.   In the Box: Vandy has a trio of power hitters in Dansby Swanson (.350, 15 HR, 62 RBI), Rhett Wiseman (.318, 14 HR, 47 RBI) and Zander Wiel (.316, 14, 65 RBI).
Pepper: Vandy is batting an NCAA tournament-best .354 with nine home runs in five games.
• The Titans' five-year absence from the CWS was the longest in program history.
• Led by Carson Fulmer and Walker Buehler, the 'Dores have notched a national-best 13 shutouts this season.
