Xavier scores 13 runs in seventh to beat Vanderbilt

Xavier headed into the top of the seventh with a 2-1 lead and probably hoped to add some extra insurance against host Vanderbilt. What the Musketeers received instead was turning the game into a blowout.

Xavier scored 13 runs in the inning, powered by a grand slam from Rylan Bannon, and eventually advanced to the winner's bracket with a 15-1 win in the Nashville regional. Here is a full breakdown of the Musketeers' incredible outing:

The grand slam from Bannon in the middle of the inning ended the day for Vanderbilt starter Jordan Sheffield, who gave up six hits and four earned runs. Bannon meanwhile led Xavier with a 2-for-4 and 5 RBI performance while Daniel Rizzie went 3-for-4 with pair of runs scored.
