East Carolina walks off defending champion Virginia

What a comeback.

Facing a 6-3 deficit against the defending champs, East Carolina plated five runs in the bottom of the ninth and Travis Walkins' deep shot to center field pushed the Pirates past Virginia, 8-6.

The Pirates are now one win away from reaching the Super Regional round. The Hoos meanwhile will face William & Mary in an elimination game on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET
